Some projects are just a bit of fun. This one started as a personal favour and turned into one of the most enjoyable briefs I've worked on in years. When Pass The Pigs came to me about a craft beer collaboration with Farm Yard Brew Co., the concept practically wrote itself. A pale ale. Pigs. The whole thing came together as smoothly as the beer itself.

THE CHALLENGE

Pass The Pigs has 40-odd years of brand equity built around its playful, unpredictable energy. The challenge was taking all of that and making it feel completely at home on a craft beer can, without watering it down or making it look like a novelty product. It had to turn heads on a bar counter, hold its own against serious craft beer brands, and still make you smile the moment you saw it.

MY ROLE

This was a solo project from concept to print-ready files. I led the creative direction, produced all label artwork and illustration, designed supporting collateral including beer mats, and built out the full suite of mockups and presentation assets for both clients.

THE RESULT

The label leans hard into the game's spirit. Bold typography, a confident colour palette, and illustration that feels like it belongs in the Pass The Pigs world but has been given a craft beer makeover. The Pig Pale lettering is fully custom, designed from scratch with additional characters built out so the same typeface can carry across all subsequent materials. Every design decision was made to feel considered and premium while keeping the fun front and centre.

The supporting collateral took things a step further. Each beer mat features a different Pig Position from the game, with the position names set in that same custom lettering, tying the whole suite together as a cohesive system. From the mats to the lifestyle shots, the collaboration holds together as a proper brand moment, not just a can with a sticker on it.

That custom type detail elevates the whole project, it shows this was built as a brand system rather than a one-off label job. Really strong portfolio piece.
